About
I'm an engineering manager with over a decade of programming experience and 7+ years in professional software engineering. I currently lead engineering teams at Luxury Presence, where I built and shipped an LLM-based AI lead nurturing product that replaced a vendor solution and saved $1M/year.
Before that, I managed engineering teams at Kandji (vulnerability management, real-time device communication via AWS IoT/MQTT) and Plutoshift (industrial IoT, backend infrastructure, SOC2/ISO compliance). I've worked across the stack — Python, TypeScript, C++, Kafka, Kubernetes, Postgres — but I'm most at home at the intersection of systems design and team leadership.
Research
Outside of work, I research historical linguistics and comparative religion, focusing on cultural and linguistic transmission from the ancient Near East into the Greco-Roman world. My current work includes:
- Anatolian etymology — tracing Greek names like Deucalion, Pygmalion, and Priam back to Hittite and Luwian origins through systematic sound correspondences
- Solar-justice theology in Apuleius — demonstrating that the Solis et Iustitiae formula in the Metamorphoses reflects Mesopotamian Shamash theology transmitted through Egyptian and Thessalian cult practice
- Pre-Greek substrate words — challenging the attribution of Greek words to an unknown substrate by identifying Anatolian, Hurrian, and Akkadian loan sources
I follow the methodology of M.L. West and the Neogrammarian tradition: etymological proposals must satisfy regular sound correspondences, directional borrowing criteria, and independent attestation in the source language.
